In one of my posts I wrote about how I just love denim and always will, and how I made a few accessories for myself from an old pair of jeans.
Well here it is. The picture doesn't show the bangle but I took a picture of that plus a closer view of the earrings in the next picture.
I just got into a denim frenzy, whipped out my tool kit and within an hour I was done making a a pair of earrings, a wrapped bangle and a headband.
I only needed: Scissors, glue, a wide bangle, stud earrings and an old pair of jeans.
I made the headband too short though-cos I did not properly consider the extra length needed to tie a nice bow at the top. The bangle had a frayed distressed denim look which was what I wanted anyway. The earrings could be made from simple button covers like this one:

I used old earrings because these were much bigger than the usual button covers available in stores and I wanted something big.
What I did was really simple:
Bangle: I cut out a strip of denim about 4 .5cm wide and long enough to cover the bangle. Then after applying glue on the bangle surface and a little on the reverse side of the denim strip, I wrapped it around the bangle in a diagonal direction. You should try to make this neat and equally spaced with maybe half a centimetre of overlaps. I finished off the end with more glue.
Headband: The easiest part. I just cut out a strip and that was it. I did not mind the frayed edges at all.
I wore all three to work on a Friday with the yellow tank top and jeans. Didn't look bad :- )
